Owning your own business can be a dream come true. I know. In the early 70's, my mother and I owned and operated a seasonal boating and beachwear shop in Brielle, NJ called The Deck House. The experience of managing a business, while it lasted, was one of the greatest gifts she ever gave me. From there, I worked for many business owners and characters with character as their receptionist, personal secretary, administrative assistant, executive assistant, bookkeeper, marketing assistant, sales rep, account executive, assistant manager, project manager, office manager, temp, website administrator and/or cheerleader. Many hats, some fit better than others.
I knew in 1996 that technology could make it virtually possible for me to work from home and "Keep on the Sunny Side" (that comfortable balance between making a living and having a life) After all, I was creating PowerPoint
presentations, building websites, designing Word templates, setting up Excel spreadsheets, creating graphics in Photoshop, and writing press releases. Projects I LOVED and they could have all been done virtually.
"Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life." - Confucius
In 2004, I set up my home office, built my website, www.thesunnyside.biz, and formed an LLC with the same name, The Sunny Side Dot Biz, LLC.
Owning your own business can be a dream come true but we both know that you can not do everything yourself. If a little help with creative marketing, contact management, website design/updates or other time consuming but necessary administrative tasks would free up some of your valuable time so you can focus on your clients, I’d love to hear from you. If I can't help you, I may know someone who can.
